<h3>How to apply:</h3> <p>Applications are to be submitted in triplicate to the <a href="http://old.moedu.gov.bd/">Ministry of Education</a>, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in prescribed form through the Bangladesh diplomatic mission in the country of domicile of the candidate or his/her country's diplomatic mission in Bangladesh. All certificates and transcripts need to be notarized by an authorized official of the Foreign Ministry of the candidate's own country without which no application will be entertained.</p> <p>Find a Supervisor:</p> <p><a href="https://oia.du.ac.bd/find_a_supervisor" target="_blank">Click Here</a> to find a supervisor based on your research area. </p> <h3>Admission procedure:</h3> <p>On receipt of the application from the Bangladesh Ministry of Education, the Equivalence Committee of the concerned Faculty of the University of Dhaka will verify the eligibility of the student for admission in the desired program. If the student is found eligible for the programme, the application will be sent to the Academic committee of the concerned Department/Institute for their opinion. Finally, the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) of the University will approve the admission. This decision will be forwarded to the Ministry of Education. The Ministry of Education will issue a no objection certificate to the concerned applicant in favour of his/her admission. Thereafter, the applicant will be allowed to get admitted by paying fees and other charges. On completion of all these necessary government formalities, the application should reach the office of the Registrar, University of Dhaka by 31 December (of the year of applying).</p> <p> </p> <h3>PhD Admission Requirements:</h3> <p>(a) The candidate must possess an M.Phil. degree from this university or of a recognized university.<br /> (b) 4 years Bachelor's degree and 1(one) year Master’s Degree.<br /> (c) In all examinations 2nd Division/Class (minimum 50% marks) or C.G.P.A 3.50 out of 5.00 and 3.00 out of 4.00.<br /> (d) Candidates should have 3 (three) years Bachelor's with 1 (one) year Master’s Degree for admission in PhD. Programme.<br /> The Ph.D. The Sub-Committee/Faculty of the Department/institute/ concerned will assess the eligibility of the candidates. Other requirements and conditions for registration under the regular system will also be applicable for Ph. D. programme.</p> <p>The candidates must have minimum two years teaching experience at the Graduation level or minimum two years research experience at any recognized Research Organization or minimum two years job experience at any Govt./Private/Autonomous/Semi-autonomous organization.<br /> The candidate must have minimum two peer-reviewed research articles published in a recognized journal. The supervisor must be of the rank of Professor or Associate Professor or Assistant Professor with a Ph.D. degree. To finalize the research topic and to prepare the synopsis, a foreign candidate should contact personally with the teacher(s), who will be his/her supervisor(s) or with the chairman/director of the concerned Department/ Institute.<br /> The candidates completing their Graduation (Honours degree) and Post graduation degree from abroad will have to apply to the Dean, Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Dhaka for determining equivalence of their earned degrees.</p> <p> </p> <h3>Academic Session: July to June</h3> <p> </p> <h3>Tuition and other fees:</h3> <p>(a) Citizen of SAARC countries - US$500/00 per annum plus other fees<br /> (b) Citizen of other countries-US$ 1,200/00 per annum plus other fees</p> <h3>Duration of Academic Programmes: 3-year</h3> <p>In special cases, in order to resume the classes on time, the University authority may allow admission of the applicant subject to approval of concerned regulatory authorities within next 2 months.
